YOUTH
Coaching & Mentorship

The first phase of our development process is a relationship-based phase that involves increasing levels of vulnerability and self-reflection; trust, guidance, and support. Coaches foster an environment that encourages personal and social responsibility while helping youth develop effective communication and practical life skills. This phase is ongoing, as coaching and mentorship change as the individual grows and expands their goals and opportunities, with approximately 50% of time in communication and discovery - the other 50% of the time in personal and social development. As a part of the Youth Enrichment Program (YEP), students are also invited to participate in workshops, meetings, and program development.
Apprenticeship

Through discovery, personal responsibility, and communication skills, qualified youth transition into learning a profession, craft, or trade. It involves youth trainees following and studying a master of the trade on the job, outside of school for a specified term. As a part of the YEP, youth are also invited to participate in workshops, meetings, and program development. Youth receive hands-on training while working with skilled professionals. Learning how to effectively listen to instructions, follow directions, retain and recall information and successfully perform a given task is the goal of an Apprentice; discipline. Youth learn to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they take on more responsibility throughout their study.
